Under 18s Continue Rise to Top of Divison

Undermanned and outnumbered The under 18s look to continue their streak with a double header weekend

Greenwich Titans U18s vs. Barnet Bulldogs

Greenwich looked to keep their current streak alive this weekend as they faced Barnet Bulldogs at home. The opponents were largely unknown but sat in 3rd place in the league coming in which meant they couldn’t be taken lightly. Greenwich started off in regular fashion with aggressive team defence and plenty of fast break opportunities. Despite a slow start Barnet would not be stifled as they chipped in 11 points of their own from set offenses and made free throws. Greenwich however did not let up on the defensive end, even with players being rotated frequently. Likewise of their offence which lead to an average of 30 points each quarter. Greenwich eventually ran away with this game and would look on to their next North London opposition, the Islington Wolves

Greenwich Titans U18 vs. Islington Wolves

After a very strong performance the previous day, Greenwich travelled to Islington in hopes of completing the weekend with an additional win. Despite missing three of their starters, Greenwich came out fiery on the defensive end and capitalised off of turnovers and missed shots. Players that would usually come off of the bench in a supporting role were able to provide more than enough energy to fill the spots that were missing. Islington would not be stifled for long and chipped in 12 points of their own to keep the game close. However a 5 point quarter from the Wolves meant the Titans would run off to a 34 point lead to end the half. Islington fought back valiantly in the second half pouring in 28 points created by sharp shooting and a mixture of zone and full court defence which chipped away at the lead of the Titans. However it would be too late, despite keeping the 2nd half close the damage had already been done and Greenwich secured their 2nd win of the weekend.
